1. What we collect
We collect information you provide directly — name, email, phone, rank, certificates (BT, CoC, JLM medical, seaman card), and employer company details for employer accounts. We also collect limited usage data (log-in timestamps, page views).
2. How we use it
We use your data to:
- Match you with relevant job opportunities;
- Allow employers you apply to to view your certificates;
- Verify employer legitimacy with SSM and Jabatan Laut records;
- Send expiry reminders for your certificates (60 days before expiry).
3. Who sees your data
Your profile and certificates are visible only to employers whose jobs you have applied to. We do not sell your data. We may share limited information with Jabatan Laut Malaysia if required by law.
4. Data retention
We keep your profile active while your account exists. Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Your rights (PDPA 2010)
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Submit a request through our contact page.
6. Cookies
We use essential session cookies for authentication. No tracking or advertising cookies are set.
7. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. We log authentication events for abuse detection.
